Valves are used widely in every industry. Without valves, no industry will be able to function properly. Valves are used in different types of machines, gas engines, pumps, compressors, vehicles etc.

First and foremost it is very important that the one who is engaged to dissemble the ball valve has the instruction booklet or manual ready in hand. With the booklet it becomes very easy to find the right kind of tools that are required to help remove the ball valves. The tools can be anything such as an adjustable wrench set, safety glasses, safety gloves etc.

1- Power Supply – Make sure that the main power supply of the industrial unit is being disconnected before the procedure for dissembling begins. Also ensure that the temperature and pressure inside are free from any danger to dissemble. You can get help from the temperature and pressure gauges that are attached to the industrial unit.

2- Remove ball valves from the pipe – Once the above procedure is complete; it is time for you to remove the ball valves from the connecting pipes. Make sure to remove it one by one. Once removed, put each of the parts on a flat surface area so that you will remember which part has to be connected back in the correct order.

3- Remove the ball valve entirely – Once the second procedure is complete, the next step is to remove and disassemble the ball valve completely from the valve unit. You must first begin to remove the hex jam nut that is lying on the top of the ball valve. In sequence wise, next will be to move the spring washer, move the control handle of the valve including the hex nuts by holding the end plate on the top of the ball valve assembly.

You have now successfully dissembled a ball valve.

Inside the valve you will find a small ball having a port. This is in real a hole in the middle of the valve. When the hole is lined up with both the valve ends then water or any kind of liquid can easily flow through it. Once the valve is closed, the said hole turns perpendicular which in turn hinders the flow of liquid.

There are different types of ball valves. Each industry will make use of ball valves for various purposes. But the end result of a ball valve remains the same. It is used to stop and start the flow of liquid. Ball valves are mainly divided into two types – the full port ball valves and the standard port ball valves.
